This easy cheeseburger casserole recipe is made with ground beef, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, rice, and more! It’s a hearty meal that packs in a ton of flavors and tastes.

We love cheeseburger casserole in our house and for good reason. It’s such a simple way to get a flavorful meal on the table that everyone just loves digging into. Plus, it has so many layers of flavors and tastes that it resonates with all our tastebuds easily.


Casseroles are great to make as well because they’re just one of the “dump and go” type recipes. While the outcome looks and tastes awesome, it really took no time at all to make this beautiful creation.

Easy Cheeseburger Casserole

Who says that casseroles only have to be for breakfast? This easy casserole recipe is one of my favorite dinner recipes to cook up. (and I love to eat it for leftovers the next day, too!)

  • Cream of mushroom soup
  • Long grain rice
  • Water
  • Crumbled bacon
  • Green bell pepper
  • Ground beef
  • Onion
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Cheddar cheese

How to Make Cheeseburger Casserole

Seeing is believing when it comes to visualizing the process of this easy hamburger casserole.

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. Stir together soup, rice, water, onion, bell pepper, seasonings, and beef.

  3. Place in 9 x 13 prepared baking dish.

  4. Bake for 75 minutes. 
  5. Top with cheese and crumbled bacon and bake an additional 10 minutes. 
  6. Scoop and serve.

Do you cook the ground beef before adding to this cheeseburger casserole?

You do. You need to make certain that you cook up the ground beef entirely before adding it to the rest of the ingredients. Then once you do, you’re going to be baking it in the oven for a short time to get all the flavors to mesh together well.

What are some side dishes that go well with casseroles?

This can be a little tricky since casseroles are so hearty on their own but adding in a few lighter side dish options is always a good idea. Think side salads or even some steamed veggies as well.

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 lb cooked ground beef
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese


  • Heat oven to 350.

  • Stir together soup, rice, water, onion, bell pepper, seasonings, and beef. 

  • Place in 9 x 13 prepared baking dish. 

  • Bake for 75 minutes. 

  • Top with cheese and crumbled bacon and bake an additional 10 minutes. 

  • Scoop and serve.
